Located in a rapidly growing community in
Northeast Ohio, Medina is in close proximity to
Cleveland and Akron. The school district is
composed primarily of the City of Medina and two
surrounding townships, covering 52 square
miles. This historic community is a blend of
old and new, capturing the spirit of the past,
and moving forward to meet the needs and
opportunities of the 21st Century.
The
school district serves over 7,000 students in a
kindergarten center, five elementary schools,
two middle schools and one high school. The
passage of a $77 million bond issue has recently
allowed the district to:
 |
-
Build its fifth elementary school
-
Expand technology
-
Provide funds to secure land for
future building needs
-
Undergo major expansion and
renovation at its high school campus
|
The
school district has made a commitment to expand
learning opportunities for students. This
ranges from consulting teachers to the
integration of technology into the curriculum to
increased staff development. Programs are being
developed to provide a personalized learning
environment for all students.
