Food Service Department 

The Food Service Department is committed to providing nutritional education and healthy food service meeting federal nutrition standards for eight of the district’s buildings.

In the 2004-05 school year, lunch participation increased by an additional 5% as the Medina City School Food Services Employees served a total of 396,602 meals.  An additional 20,638 meals were served this past year.  District-wide 60% of the students participate in the school lunch program with the largest percentage from the middle schools and the high school.  The next two years for the Food Services Department will be especially challenging as it develops a district-wide school wellness program.

Maintenance Department

The Buildings and Grounds Department oversees maintenance, capital improvements, and custodial services for $172 million worth of property, including the Kindergarten Center, five elementary schools, two middle schools, the high school campus, three complete stadium complexes, and other district facilities totaling over 1.1 million square feet.

Transportation Services 

In the 2004-05 school year Medina City School bus drivers transported 4,362 public school students and 524 non-public school students per day.  The Transportation Department also operated four routes that served 104 students with special education needs.  Medina’s buses traveled more than 3,160 miles each day.  During the school year, the buses also transported students to more than 900 co-curricular competitions and field trips.

Print Shop 

The print shop provides printing and mailing services for the entire district.  On average it prints 600,000 copies monthly.
