SCHOLARSHIP UPDATE
December 2008
Seniors:
Here is the
third of many monthly publications which will provide you with valuable
scholarship information. Consult the websites listed or see Mrs. Hershey
in House 1 for information. Many sponsors request you apply
on-line. If available, paper applications will be distributed from House
1 Office (Look on the bookcase inside the door…). The due date listed is
the date the application must be in the hands of the sponsor, so please do not
delay in completing applications. If you have questions, see Mrs.
Hershey.
Remember,
most scholarship money comes directly from the colleges and universities, so be
sure you apply there first! (New data:
80% of awarded Financial Aid has some tie with the Federal/State
government and is most likely need-based.
18% comes from colleges in form of scholarships. 1-2% comes from sponsored programs.)
Good luck with your scholarship searching!
REMINDER:
Parents and students are invited to
attend the annual
