Reviewing for the To
Kill a Mockingbird exam
Let’s
assume that you have carefully read the entire novel and completed your reading
journals.
Review
class notes on Harper Lee and the 1930’s
Review
class notes on The Scottsboro Trial and the Emmett Till Trial.
Review
the questions that you answered and that we discussed in class.
Review
your reading journals.
Review
your character log—know who all the characters are and be able to explain the
role of each.
Answer
review questions on web site—get a study group together and discuss the
questions or quiz each other.
Using
your journals (or the novel) create a flow chart or timeline of significant
events in the novel.
Identify
the main themes of the novel and the scenes or passages that support them.
Rent
the movie. The movie leaves out many scenes from the novel, but it is fairly
faithful to the novel. Besides being a good review after reading the novel, it
is a great movie. Remember, though, that the test is based on the novel, not
the film.
