CLASS POLICIES

9th grade Science/Cleary

1. I start class when the bell rings. YOU start class before the bell rings! I expect you to come in, sit in assigned seat, and write your homework down on your assignment sheet.

2. Tardy policy same as student handbook.

3. Respect each other and cooperate during assigned learning activities.

4. Behavior should be appropriate for the classroom.

5. Please do as I say. School policy will not tolerate insubordination.

6. I usually give warnings.

7. Gum chewing is permitted but I do not want to see it, hear it, or find it.

8. If a detention is given, it is a “personal” detention and must be served with me in room 2131 from 3:00-4:00 PM within 2 days.

9. You must keep a grade sheet. Also, a notebook/folder/binder for notes and handouts is required, as well as graph paper and colored pencils

10. Backpacks are placed in the back of the room or under the lab desk.

11. The "Peggy Rankin Rule" is a very effective way to enhance learning.

12. Teamwork is essential to lab work. Always, always, always follow lab safety guidelines.

13. If there is a substitute and your name is written down for poor behavior, the consequence is double, double detentions.

14. If absent, see me before or after school or in the first 2 minutes before the tardy bell. All labs and work must be made up. You must take the initiative to find out what you missed.

15. An electronic textbook is available to you at no charge or a CD copy can be made for you.

16. My web site has homework and copies of handouts listed for you. Bookmark this site and use it. There may be practice tests posted during the year. www.mcsoh.org/mhs/science/cleary/index.html

17. Be careful, Earth Science On the Brain Disease is contagious. There is no known cure.
