History Syllabus
Requirements
- A
binder, NOT A FOLDER, is mandatory for this class. See example.
- Textbook
is required everyday unless stated.
Covered by Monday, August 27th.
- Writing
tool.
Tests
- A
chapter test will be given at the end of every chapter. You will have a least 3, usually 5, days
notice. Most tests are worth 50
points.
Quizzes
- There
will be at least one “pop” quiz per week. They are 10 to 15 points each. The quizzes cover notes and reading
assignments.
Absences
- Tests
and quizzes will be made up in the morning or during study hall for those
students with excused absences.
- Unexcused
absences will result in a zero.
Classroom Expectations
- You
are expected to behave as the young adult that you are. Allow others the time to express their
opinions. Put downs, making fun of
others, or any other negative comments will never be tolerated!
- Minor
infractions…talking out of tern, class disruption, etc… will
be handled in the following. (See
referral forms for tardy and behavior violations)

Homework
- Is due
the following day unless you are told otherwise. See the board for weekly agenda. Each assignment will be given an
appropriate point value. (See
return box)
- Late
work- Two assignments can be turned in late for ½ credit. A zero will be given after two.
Grading scale
A+ 100-97%
A 96-93%
A- 92-90%
B+ 89-87%
B 86-83%
B- 82-80%
C+ 79-77%
C 76-73%
C- 72-70%
D+ 69-67%
D 66-63%
F 62% or lower
Class Participation
At the end of each grading period, a participation grade of
50 points will be given to each student.
This is equivalent to one test grade.
It is expected that you are attentive and participating in class. Everyone should attempt to be a positive
contributor to the class.
