Work-Study Program

The Work-Study Program is an integral part of the special education program in the Medina City Schools.  This program offers students an opportunity to enhance their work-related skills as well as their social skills through practical work experience.  The students are also able to earn up to three elective credits through employment as long as the terms of the Work-Study contract are fulfilled.  All students who have an IEP are eligible for work-study services and elective credit.  Services needed are determined by the IEP team.  They can include but may not be limited to transition services, job development, job carving, interview training, agency rehab referral and evaluation.  Students may earn elective credit by working a paid position in the community.  For every 160 hours they document as worked, they earn one elective credit.
